Bali Island Project (IDN-61)

Brief description and main aims

Bali is a well-known island with beautiful scenery in every corner of the island. Some years ago we established an agreement with some local schools to send volunteers. We have various projects in western and southern part of Bali. These are public primary school and secondary school in Jembrana, an Islamic school in Nusa Dua and public disabled school in Jimbaran.

We accommodate the need from local students to have the opportunity to interact with foreigners and increase communication ability among students and teachers.



Volunteer tasks

The volunteers will assist teachers in giving English lessons and introducing some English songs for the children project. While for the middle school, the volunteer would need to assist English teacher and encourage the students to practice their English. They will also be involve in other activities like cultural exchange and playing with the students after the school in several extracurricular activities, such as sport, art, scout, music and traditional dance.

Volunteer requirements / Skills

The volunteer should be open-minded, mature, respectful of local customs, tolerant, creative, flexible, patient, confident and independent. The volunteer should also be willing to accept basic living conditions in the project site.

The volunteer should have never been found guilty in a criminal case. It is strictly prohibited to possess narcotics, marijuana, opium, stimulants or other drugs. The volunteer should not have piercings on the face and no visible tattoos. A common hairstyle (not colourful, dreadlocks) is requested. Flexible vegetarians are welcomed but unfortunately, we are not able to host strict vegetarians (vegan).

Please accept our apology that we are not able to host volunteers with mental disabilities or people with mobility and movement impairments, such as a limitation on physical functioning, blindness, deftness, epilepsy, sleep disorders etc.)


These projects are located in Jimbaran, Nusa Dua and Melaya

The terminal of arrival: Semarang Airport, railway station (Volunteer is NOT ALLOWED to buy a flight ticket before getting the visa and confirmation from the host organization).

Hosting Situation (Board and Lodging)

The accommodation and food will be provided by a local host family or at a dormitory (to be confirmed). The volunteer may have an own room or share the room and other facilities with host family members. Facilities are simple and Indonesian style (no hot water, no washing machine).
