Brief description and main aims

This foundation works with children and young people aged between 4 and 18 years living below the poverty line and aims to provide the tools to understand the risks of substance abuse, gangs, and other problems faced by the community.

Main Activities

The Foundation works with vulnerable children and young people aged between 4 and 18 years. The 30 young people with whom the project is currently working are living below the poverty line and have been affected by violence, physical abuse, extreme poverty, sexual abuse, illiteracy, sexual and workplace exploitation, drug addiction and beggary. The mission of the foundation is to provide protection for these vulnerable young people through the project’s key values: dignity, love, respect, transparency and perseverance.

Volunteer tasks

• Accompaniment in tasks
• Recreational activities such as painting and art
• Help with English tutorials
• Everyday life and sport and culture.

Volunteer requirements / Skills

Responsible, dedicated to the children, good disposition, compliancewith rules established by the institution, moral integrity, confidentiality with the processes of the institution, good personal presentation.
 

Location

Medellín is the second most important city of Colombiaand is located in the department of Antioquia. It has about 2 740 000 inhabitants. Medellin’s economy is known for its textile industry and its importance in the touristic sector.

Hosting Situation (Board and Lodging)
