Brief description and main aims

AGRECOL Andes Foundation is a legally registered NGO dedicated to the promotion of ecological agriculture in order to contribute to a sustainable rural development in the Andean region, through the promotion of the ecological agriculture, training local people, revision of available information for the communication and improvement of technical organic agriculture and the community's participation for the sustainable development.

Main Activities

AGRECOL's main activities include:

• Information and Communication for sustainable development
• Training
• Facilitation and follow-up of processes of change
• Systematization and documentation of experiences

Volunteer tasks

The volunteer is expected to:

• Provide support during the workshops of information
• carry out documentation of activities related with the ecological production
• be able to diffuse information to the producer peasant

Working schedule depends of the kind of activities the volunteer will do. Normally the volunteer works 35 hrs/week.

Volunteer requirements / Skills

The volunteer should:

• be active with alot of  motivation
• be a team worker
• have basic knowledge of organic or alternative agricultural production

The volunteer should be an active participant and planner of their own tasks and motivated to get in touch with different people.

Location

The project is located in Cochabamba.

Hosting Situation (Board and Lodging)

The volunteer will live with a host family.
