DIF Municipal Toluca (MEX-7)

Brief description and main aimsDIF is part of the local government. It works with the most vulnerable sectors of society to help children who are at risk of living on the streets or who are already homeless, providing them with protection, affection, and understanding. In addition, provide education and development strategies that shall contribute to the recovery of their self-respect and enhance their possibilities of having a good life during adulthood. The project also has other activities such as taking care of disabled people. When the volunteer arrives, he/she together with the project manager, will decide their area of work.

Main Activities
DIF is a public institution that offers a real option for children who are at risk of living on the streets or who are already homeless. DIF provides a house for children to play, eat, dotheir homework, etc. Within DIF, there is a school that the kids can attend. Homeless children have the opportunity to stay in the house while DIF finds them a permanent home.

Volunteer tasks
The volunteer will work with street children, children from poor families or children without parents.
