Farming and fishing remain the major source of income for the people of Barili, with its agricultural sector complemented by a vibrant livestock market which is one of the biggest of its kind in the whole province. The LGU of Barili hopes to promote social and economic development through enhanced agri-tourism productivity, well-planned infrastructure programs, good governances and sustained disaster resiliency activities for a livable and drug-free community.
The main activities of the project are:
Crop and livestock enhancement programs.
Community food production.
Veterinary outreach program (animal vaccinations).
Tree planting, coastal clean-up and other community service.
Some of the vounteers tasks are:
To assist in the development, coordination and conduct of the crops and livestock enhancement programs.
To provide support to the project related programs and activities.
Marketing/training development involvement.
Volunteer requirements / Skills
The volunteer must:
Be flexible, open-minded and able to adopt the local situation.
Be commited to regular updates/reporting/monitoring/ through mobile, online communication.
Be independent and capable of work with few supervision.
Be innovative, industrious, adventurous and creative.
Hosting Situation (Board and Lodging)
The volunteer will live with a Host Family (expect to have a shared room with your host sister or brother).
