To provide support all sort to people living and affected HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis (woman, children)
Their main activities include Psychosocial assistance to people living or affected by HIV/AIDS, providing food and clothes to those in really need, provide food supplement to children with low level of nutrition’s, train people how to take care of people with HIV on their later stage and also providing home daily care to people with HIV as well promotes awareness campaigns in order to prevent the spread of HIV. Their main target groups are: a) Orphans and Vulnerable Children; b) Woman Living and/or Affected by HIV/AIDS and c) People With Tuberculosis.
The international volunteers will be working with the local community activist in following:
Providing psychosocial support to people living or affected by HIV/AIDS;
Working with local children in different activities like schooling, homework, daycare, etc;
Organize and run workshop for the local communities on infectious diseases;
Promotes awareness campaigns in order to prevent the spread of HIV in schools and local markets;
Advocate for people living with HIV/AIDS;
Volunteer requirements / Skills
The volunteer should be:
Interest in being involved with the local community;
Like to work with children;
Must be a person who can easily adapt to the given situations and conditions.
The project is located in one of the suburbs of Maputo, a residential area. Some services and facilities are provided in the area. Very safe and with ease access to the area by local transport.
