Brief description and main aims

Tha aim of the project is to provide residential support to children, youth and adults with disabilities and autism, to enable them to be valuable participants in their community and live the life they choose.

Volunteer tasks

During your shift, there will be a variety of tasks, including helping with daily chores, personal needs, recreational activities, daytime excursions, cooking and more. You will be a big buddy to the residents!

Volunteer requirements / Skills

Volunteers need to be people who LOVE people! You will be someone who wants others to shine, are passionate about living life to the full and seeing all people, no matter their abilities, become active and equal citizens in their community.

Volunteers will be helping in residential housing, so if you are friendly, warm and positive – you will be fantastic!

Location

Christchurch on the South island.

Hosting Situation (Board and Lodging)

Volunteers will share a house with the residents. You will usually have your own room.

Volunteers will need to cook their own meals (food supplied) as well as prepare meals for the resients, often eating together family-style.
