Brief description and main aims

ICDE – India  offers young people the possibility to spend one-year abroad, participating in a program  designed to facilitate an exchange among nations as a means to promote peace, intercultural  understanding, and cross-cultural learning. This is done through direct personal experiences and  international volunteer work through a network of national committees, co-workers, host families, community development projects, friends and well-wishers. ICDE -India also offers a volunteer placement at its national office in Bangalore. The work entails office administration, correspondence with volunteers and assisting the staff with hosting and sending volunteers.

Volunteer tasks

The main tasks in our office include:

  • Updating the organization’s webpage and social media channels (Facebook, YouTube etc.)
  • Creatiing ICDE newsletters
  • Making documentary videos about volunteer work in India
  • Interacting with volunteers at their work placement or at host family
  • Taking photos and use them for calendar, greeting cards etc.
  • Helping ICDE staff with office work
  • Helping with the preparation of camps and offering assistance

Volunteer requirements / Skills

The  volunteer  should  have: 

  • Knowledge of photography and video making
  • Good English skills

Location

The office is located in Bangalore.

Hosting Situation (Board and Lodging)

The volunteer will stay with a host family.
