Brief description and main aims

SianCao elementary school was established in 1920 and is situated in BaiHe District, Tainan City. The school has two branches, SianCao campus and GuanLing campus. SianCao campus is located in between BaiHe downtown and GuanZiLing scenic area. GuanLing campus is located at GuanZiLing, one of the most famous hot spring destinations in Taiwan.

Main Activities

• Encourage students to experience different cultures
• Providing students with the opportunity to communicate in English
• Expanding students’ global view

Volunteer tasks

• Assist the English teachers with their classes (help the kids with pronunciation or phonics)
• Attend some classes with the kids so they can enjoy learning with the volunteer
• Others: Art, Music, P.E, Chinese, Computer, Break time activities

Volunteer requirements / Skills

• Speak English (so the kids can communicate and practice the language)
• Be patient and responsible
• Have a good attitude so the kids can enjoy the activities with the volunteer

Location

Hosting Situation (Board and Lodging)

The volunteer will live with the other teachers at the dorm near the GuanLing campus. The volunteer will have own bedroom.
