Brief description and main aims

Royal school Complex provides affordable basic education to children from the community and admits students from nursery to primary 6. Currently there are 332 students enrolled.

Volunteer tasks

The volunteer's tasks include:

  • Supporting teachers in classroom
  • Taking care of children during break time
  • Helping children eat, especially the little ones who cannot feed themselves
  • Engaging the children in their extra co-curricular activities

Volunteer requirements / Skills

The volunteer should be someone who can speak, read, write and understand English. The volunteer can be of any gender and must be at least 18 years old.

Location

The school is located in Breman Kuntanase, the fourth biggest town in the district of Asikuma- Odoben-Brakwa in the central region of Ghana. 
 
 

Hosting Situation (Board and Lodging)

Volunteers will be living with a host family in the community. Volunteers should also bear in mind that they will be sharing a room with other volunteers.

More Information

The people in the community are predominantly peasant farmers with few formal sector workers and petty traders. Their main source of fuel for cooking is firewood and about 95% of the entire community population uses firewood incooking.The people are friendly and very hospitable. 

Ghana will offer you many kinds of foods such as fufu, red red, konkonte, banku, fante kenkey, apreprensa.
