Brief description and main aims

Mangwoo Youth Center was established in 2006 and it runs by Seoul YMCA, entrusted by Seoul Metropolitan Government. It is a child-youth education center which covers most of Jungnang community.
It advocates youth with the value of life and peace and works with local community.

Main Activities

  • Various youth activity programs
  • Sports programs for the community
  • Kids sports club

Volunteer tasks

  • To work as an assistant teacher of Mangwoo kids sports club, and help with various activities and classes. Also, a volunteer may take care of the kids when they are taking the shuttle bus.
  • Childcare work could also included, such as helping kids change their clothes for special activities etc.
A volunteer may also participate in various youth activity programs of the center as an assistant teacher.
 

 

Volunteer requirements / Skills

The volunteer should be:
  • Friendly, out-going, and interested in working with children
  • Able to communicate and interact with other staff members
  • Good at English and willing to learn Korean quickly
  • Willing to perform various tasks
 

Location

The project is located in Jungnang-gu, Seoul.

Hosting Situation (Board and Lodging)

Volunteer will be accommodated in the YMCA Hotel (with a roommate) or at the guest house.
