Brief description and main aimsCESAMO (Centro de Salud con Médico y Odontólogo) & Clínica Materno Infantil Taulabé is a public health care centre that offers medical care to the population of the rural community Taulabé, a village located between the two main cities of Honduras, Tegucigalpa and San Pedro Sula. Under the public health system of Honduras, a CESAMO (acronym in Spanish for health centre with a doctor and dentist) are facilities that usually have a physician on staff at all times and occasionally a dentist. The CESAMO in Taulabé also has a maternity clinic, providing health services mainly taking care of children and pregnant women, and also health promotion activities mainly vaccinating children and raising awareness on the importance of health care.

Volunteer tasksThe tasks of the volunteer will depend on his/her knowledge in medicine. The volunteer assists the doctor, nurses and/or dentist. Examples of tasks are:
The volunteer can also participate and organise campaigns to raise awareness on health care that are delivered to different schools and institutions. |

More Information
The project is available to start in August and February every year for 6-12 months.
