Volunteer tasks
One of the main tasks carried out by the volunteer is teaching English, music and/or computer lessons/classes to the children and youth, with the assistance of qualified staff members who are educators. The type of lessons/classes will depend on the volunteer’s knowledge, skills and interests.
The volunteer can also help staff members take care of the children and youth, including assisting the children and youth with their homework, recreational activities, artistic activities and organising cleaning and maintenance chores.
With a good level of Spanish, the volunteer can assist the staff members with administrative and organisational tasks, such as making schedules, rota systems, documentation, report writing, etc.
If it is of her/his interest, the volunteer can also get involved in food preparation, up-keeping and maintain the facilities and equipment. As well as helping out in the hen house and garden (these two activities are usually carried out during the weekend together with the children and youth).
The volunteer may contribute to other activities and propose new ones.
