Brief description and main aims

This kindergarten was founded more than 7 years ago to help promote education in the area. It accommodates both girls and boys.

Volunteer tasks

The volunteer's tasks include:

• Teaching
• Reading, drawing and painting
• Games and sports
• Organizing activities related to music, dance and drama

Volunteer requirements / Skills

• Be hard working to really fit in with the school system
• Love children and be able to work with them in class, during relaxing sessions, play time and breakfast (and during lunch for those who stay longer or untill the afternoon)
• Go with the school van to pick up kids from their homes and bringing them back home
• Work with other teachers i.e. assisting them in class in and outside the classroom
• Participate in music, dance, drama, sports and class energizers acitivites with the kids

We can host both male and female volunteers who are between 18 and 30 years old. Our volunteers are given a chance to be creative and be able to introduce or initiate ideas of their own that can benefit both school and their personal growth.

Location

The kindergarten is located in Makindye, 5km from Kampala.

Hosting Situation (Board and Lodging)

Our volunteers will stay with a host family and have their own room.
