The Betesda Foundation (Fundación Betesda) is a non-profit organization founded in 1984, with the aim of contributing to the development of people with physical or learning difficulties.
Betesda's Belisana Residence is open 24/7, 365 days a year, and looks after people with different disabilities.
During the weekdays there are 2 social integration technicians and 4 professional careers working in the Residence. The nights are covered by two professional careers, and between 7:30 and 9:00 in the morning, there are 6 professional careers attending the morning routine and conducting the residents to their occupational workshops.
All morning activities are mandatory for the residents, and in the afternoon there are some mandatory and some voluntary activities. Mandatory activities are all related to personal hygiene, caring for belongings and premises, and creating and maintaining satisfactory personal relations and a social climate.
The volunteer will help the staff look after the residents. They will participate in the workshops organised at the residence, which can include carpentry, painting, crafts etc. and leisure activities such as going to the cinema, excursions (e.g. to the mountains),etc.
