Brief description and main aims

Yangcheon YMCA was founded in 1999 and it belongs to Seoul YMCA. It is a physical education center offering courses and classes to the Yangcheon community from 4 to 80 years in age. The aim is to create a healthy environment for children to enjoy learning.

Main Activities

  • Multi-faceted courses like swimming, painting, gymnastic, pottery, computer, English conversation
  • Outdoor exercises and many more activities
 

Volunteer tasks

  • To work as a co-assistance in the classes
  • To help on day-to-day tasks and all kinds of activities
  • To teach children some games, songs, storytelling
 

Volunteer requirements / Skills

The volunteer should be:
  • Active, creative, patient and interested in working with children
  • Open-minded, social, patient, creative and willing to learn the Korean language quickly
  • Able to communicate in English

Location

The project is located in Yangcheon-gu, Seoul.

Hosting Situation (Board and Lodging)

Volunteer will be accommodated in the YMCA Hotel (with a roommate).
