Brief description and main aims

Provide care and protection to abandoned babies, provide a home for those children who are physically and sexually abused. To provide a home for children whose parents are incarcerated and have been referred to Imani by the court system.

Volunteer requirements / Skills

  • Being a people centred organisation, the volunteer should be ready to interact with people of different kind at the time of the Volunteership.
  • Be able to speak and write English
  • Age between 24 - 55 years

Location

The local community is within Jomvu along Tudor Creek in Mombasa. Jomvu Sub-Country among the four Sub-countries bordering Tudor Creek derives its name from the Jomvu communities and their villages in the creek. Youths form the largest population with 44% of the population being unemployed. They mostly depend on small scale fishing, farming and trading.
