Brief description and main aimsUganda Youth And Women's Effort Fighting AIDS known as UYWEFA, was established as a community based, non-profit organisation in 2007 by people living with and affected by HIV/AIDS. UYWEFA's mission is to improve the life of people infected and affected by HIV/AIDS through health, education and economic empowering programs.

Main ActivitiesUYWEFA initially began with supporting HIV infected and affectd households with home based care services including counselling and testing, nutritional and psychosocial support. Today, the organization has expanded to provide formal education and vocational training opportunities to three hundred orphans and vulnerable children. Youth friendly services, such as videography to one hundred young people infected by HIV/AIDS and those at risk. It has also provided economic empowerment opportunities and psychosocial support for fifty single mothers living with HIV/AIDS.
