Brief description and main aims

The office of MENRO is mandated to ensure environment friendly for the Municipality of Tapaz through maintenance of cleanliness and sanitation, regulation of natural wealth,reforestation and material recovery of waste materials , and develops plans and strategies for the environmental programs and projects

Main Activities

Solid Waste Management ( Waste Segregation)

Regulation on use of non-biodegradable materials

Mangrove forest conservation, Tree Planting

Community clean up drives

Volunteer tasks

Assist the organization’s office and field work which include but are not limited to the following: development of promotional and presentation materials, conduct advocacy campaigns in schools, communities, institutions as well as organize related events, etc.

Assist during training/capacity building programs, community visits and other community development related work

Assist writing of proposals for grants/donations and other resource mobilization activities

Assist in preparation of campaign materials and in organizing campaigns and advocacies.( ex. preparing leaflets or signages)

Participate in the clean-up drive, greening projects, mangrove projects and other activities of the agency

Volunteer requirements / Skills

Flexible, open-minded and team player

High interest or has special skills on sustainable development, social entrepreneurship and community development work

Keen interest (hobbies/skills/talent) on any of the following: photography, video, animation and other multi-media documentation, graphic arts, information technology, website and social media development and management

Independent and can handle limited supervision

Interest in presentation and communication skills

Living with host family (expect to have a shared room with your host sister or brother)
