Brief description and main aims

Maitri association Davanagere is a non-governmental organization.  For 25  years it runs  number  of projects in the different areas of Karnataka states including Open Shelter home for Children, Old age home & UJJAWALA (women’s) scheme recognized under Dept. of women and Child Development from Central and State govt. Keeping  the  above  issues  and  gaps  in  mind  the  Ministry has formulated a Central scheme “Comprehensive Scheme for Preventation of Trafficking for Rescue, Rehabilitation and Re-Integration  of  victims  of  Trafficking  for  Commercial  Sexual Exploitation-UJJAWALA” The New Scheme has been conceive primarily for the purpose of preventing trafficking on the one hand and rescue and rehabilitation of victims on the other.

Volunteer tasks

• Teaching English and IT
• Organize group activities including sports and craft work 

Volunteer requirements / Skills

Volunteer should be have good English skills, which will encourage the  students  to  speak and improve  their English. Volunteer can introduce simple  spoken English and reading  assignments  for the students. Vocational  skills – computers,  hands  on  craft,  carpentry, sewing, embroidery or any other skill that can be taught and shared with the students are very welcome.

The project is located in Davanagere.

Food and accommodation will be arranged in the project.
