Brief description and main aims

Seoboo YMCA was founded in 2014 and it belongs to Seoul YMCA. It is a physical education center which is vailable to some of Sangam-dong's community.

It aims to create a healthy environment for our children where they would enjoy learning.

Main Activities

Multi-faceted courses like

  • swimming,
  • painting
  • gymnastics
  • pottery
  • computers
  • English conversation
  • Outdoor exercises
  • many more activities.

Volunteer tasks

Work as a teaching assistant in the classes. The volunteer takes part in different educational and leisure activities, such as sports, arts & crafts, trips, etc. In some occasions, volunteers are required to help out with social activities, camps, charity bazaars, etc.

A little bit of care work is involved, such as helping kids change their clothes for special activities, feeding them, etc.

Work hours: about 35 hours per week ( Monday through Friday)

Volunteer requirements / Skills

  • The volunteer should be active, creative, patient, out-going, take initiative, and interested in working with children.
  • Preferably a volunteer who is willing to learn Korean quickly.
  • Volunteers need to be flexible and willing to carry out a variety of tasks.
  • Volunteers should be interested in sports, music, arts etc.
  • Volunteers should be between 22-27 years old.

Hosting Situation (Board and Lodging)

The Volunteer will live in the YMCA Hotel (with a roommate).
