About

The Lighthouse Christian Mission School is a centre of academic excellence that provides education and support to all children in the community. The children look up to their teachers and role models, who help them develop confidence, a strong sense of pride, and the ability to lead good lives through academic achievement and responsible citizenship. The school’s main goal is to give children from the community, especially those from low-income families, access to education and bring them one step closer to a secure future. At Lighthouse School, learning is not the only priority; the health of the children is also important. Safe drinking water is available for the children, and they also receive a warm lunch every day.

Accommodation

Volunteers will be staying with a host family.

Volunteer Tasks

• Volunteers will assist teachers in developing teaching
  materials for the Creche, Nursery and Kindergarten.
• Volunteers will assist in teaching and caring for the children.
• They will assist in organising school and extra curriculum activities.

Volunteer Requirements

Volunteers should be open-minded and a team player. Most importantly, the volunteers should be patient and be willing to adopt to the Ghanaian culture during their stay.
