About

Albergue Infantil los Pinos AC was founded in 1987 in order to support children in vulnerable situations and extreme poverty, by providing them with the tools to become empowered, self-sufficient, and engaged citizens. The children and adolescents mostly have difficult backgrounds (e.g. lack of love, malnutrition, and
depression/fears caused by psychological and sometimes physical abuse).

The project has two houses:

  • House of Children: Serving 70 children from 4 to 12 years old
  • Youth House: Serving 30 minors between 13 and 18 years old.

Albergue Los Pinos fundamental tasks are:

  • Help the children solve emotional problems through therapy.
  • Help children regain their self-confidence and love for others.
  • Provide them with the necessary tools for social integration.
  • Provide professional support to the children, youth, and their families.

Please note:

You will be surrounded by children and adolescents with physical, social, cultural, and emotional trauma. The majority have learning disabilities, and health, nutrition, and hygiene problems. The beneficiaries of the programme mostly come from violent and poor colonies.
