Brief description and main aims

The overall long-term objective of CAFEi is to create resilient food ecosystems throughout Cebu especially during the crisis caused by COVID 19 pandemic and lockdowns. The Grow-It-Yourself Feeding and Gardening program at its core will provide selected beneficiary families in Cebu access to Food, Now and building the capacity of the families for Food,Tomorrow.

Main Activities

• Focused on feeding families healthy food each week while simultaneously teaching them what healthy food is, how to cook it the best way, and how to grow their own food
• The program affects the following areas of concern in society: Disaster response / Nutrition(Feeding) / Food Ecosystem / Regenerative Farming / Livelihood /Bayanihan Social Innovation and Enterprise

Volunteer tasks

• Participate in organic farming and other agricultural related activities
• Assist in developing and renovating the farm
• Conduct trainings and seminars
• Assist with the organization's promotion and resource mobilization efforts

• Open to multitask
• Interest in presentation and communication
• Innovative, industrious, adventurous, sociable
• Independent and requires less supervision
• Open to do field work activities

Location

The project is located in Cebu City.

Hosting Situation (Board and Lodging)

The volunteer will stay with a host family (expect to have a shared room with your host sister or brother).
