Teach English to Buddhist Monks in Nepal and help them become proficient in this language. This will let the Monks to be able to speak as well as write in English and be able to share their religion with people from around the world.
Volunteers teaching English to buddhist Monks will work as English teachers to young Buddhist Monks in monasteries in Kathmandu and Chitwan.
As a volunteer you will also witness and participate in traditional Buddhist rituals while organizing games, paintings, drawings and other creative activities for the young monks.
Volunteer requirements / Skills
There are no specific skills required, nevertheless, the project is best suited for motivated volunteers who:
Have a strong deire to teach and be acquainted with the lifestyle of Buddhist Monks.
Are respectful to Monks as well as to the rules at the monastery.
Are interested in Buddhism.
Are flexible and self motivated
Native English speakers are prefered, but this is not mandatory.
Kathmandu and Chitwan.
The volunteering period for this project can be from 1 to 12 weeks.
Hosting Situation (Board and Lodging)
Volunteers will stay in a hostel. They will have to share rooms with volunteers from other nationalities participating in the same program.
Note: aside from the regular fees, volunteers are required to pay additionally 50 euros every week while participating in this project.
