Brief description and main aims

The Home for the Malnourished and Sick Children is a community organization, run by Sisters of Mother Theresa, that helps sick and malnourished children from poor families.

It aims to provie medical care to the children, assist staff members for the feeding of the children  and to play with the children.

 

Main Activities

The organization's main activities include:
  • Feeding the children
  • Assisting staff members with the organization’s activities
  • Providing personal assistance to the children

Volunteer tasks

The volunteer is expected to:
  • Assist staff, local volunteer and the sisters in everyday activities
  • Assist the organization in visiting communities to give medical assistance
  • Create recreational activities for the children.
  • Feed and clean the children

Volunteer requirements / Skills

The volunteer should:
  • Be passionate about the work, and compassionate toward their fellow human beings
  • Actively supports children's needs
  • Be flexible , open-minded and able to adapt to the local situation
  • Have patience
  • Be independent and not need supervision all the time

Barangay Suba, Cebu City

Duration

This is a short term project available year round- 

Hosting Situation (Board and Lodging)

The volunteer will live with a host family (expect to have a shared room with other volunteers or members of the family).
