Baitul Ansaar Child Care Centre (ZAF-11)
|
Brief description and main aims
Baitul Ansaar Child Care Centre was established on April 2008. Our goal of service is to address the process of social change and development of all the children who have lost their parents, through a holistic and well formulated strategic development and economic plan. We are committed to the social, physical, emotional, psychological and most importantly the spiritual upliftment of all children deprived of the opportunity of their natural parents, through the establishment of a stable and caring family environment. We are home to 42 children with ages ranging from birth to 11.

Main Activities
Babies and toddlers: We offer a place of safety for babies as well as short term stays. Every baby that
comes through our doors undergoes a complete physical check up. We work closely with the Red Cross Children’s Hospital, but also have an audiologist, speech therapist, ophthalmologist, dermatologist, physiotherapist and dental surgeon on call should our babies need anything.
School children: We are meeting regularly with their teachers and monitoring their progress at school. In between homework, outings and school, we try to involve our school going children in relevant workshops and short courses that address the realities that they are beginning to experience.
