Brief description and main aims

There are some Islamic schools in Java Island that have the Arabic language in their international curriculum. The students sometimes have daily routines, such as reading the Qur'an before the full day learning in school. 

They are learning to write and read Qur'an an as well as speaking Arabic for daily conversations. 

Volunteer tasks

The role of the volunteer will be assisting local teacher in holding Arabic subject as foreign language. Moreover, the presence of volunteers could give them motivation in practicing their foreign language knowledge. Intercultural learning in the form of dialogue, music and games could give the student better understanding to learn about another culture from other country.

Volunteer requirements / Skills

Arabic language skills.

The volunteer must be Native or fluent in Japanese. He/she should be open-minded, tolerant, creative, flexible, patient, respectful for local costumes. He/she must have a special dive for adolescent and youngsters, willing to accept basic living condition in the project site and be confident. 
 
The volunteer cannot be vegan or strict vegetarian, but flexible vegetarian is still welcomed. Please accept our apology’s that we are not open for volunteers with mental disabilities and people with mobility and movement disability’s such as limitation on physical functioning, blindness, deft, epilepsy, sleep disorders etc.
 
The volunteer cannot have any piercings on the face, no visible tattoos and should have common hair style(no colorful hair or dreadlocks) and a Certificate of Good Conduct from the police.
 
The volunteer must never have been found guilty in a criminal case in the volunteer’s home country or in another country. It is strictly prohibited to possess narcotics, marijuana, opium, stimulants or other drugs.

Location

Central Java. 

Hosting Situation (Board and Lodging)

The accomodation and food will be provided by the host project. The volunteer will stay at a local host family or dormitory (to be confirmed). Facilities are simple and Indonesian style (no hot water, no washing machine).
