Brief description and main aims

Bisdak Pride Inc. is committed to provide a well-round educational discussions, quality development and enhancement of programs as well as provide strong support to LGBTQI+ groups and non-LGBTs to fully appreciate, comprehend and appreciate the marginalized sector.

Main Activities

  • Advancing political participation through a right-based approach
  • Promoting health and environmental concerns
  • Understanding religion and sexuality
  • Promotion of culture and arts

(Note: With the new set up due to pandemic, expect to be exposed in organizing other activities in an online environment.)

Volunteer tasks

  • Assist to formulate a community-based education curriculum for various LGBTIQ+ communities, primarily in Cebu and shall be possibly replicated in the Visayas region.
  • Co-facilitate and or organize capacity building training to the local youth , inter-cultural learning and other related development
  • Share innovations in order to continuously promote inclusive societies.
  • Meet and interact with local community like students, out-of –school youth, women, local government, and various LGBTIQ+ communities
  • Review and give feedback on program development
  • Support administrative, website and social media management etc.

Volunteer requirements / Skills

  • Strong interests on LGBTQ++ and social inclusion issues
  • Flexible, open-minded and able to adopt the local situation
  • Sociable and can easily mingle with officials, staff, volunteers etc.
  • Commitment to serve
  • Independent and requires less supervision
  • Innovative, industrious, adventurous, creative and fun loving

Location

The project is located in Labangon, Cebu City.y

Hosting Situation (Board and Lodging)

Living with a host family (expect to have a shared room with your host sister or brother).
