Brief description and main aims

The aim is to promote Nordic culture in Mexico and Latin America.

*Nordic countries (Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway and Iceland)

Main Activities

Cultural Activities:

• Coordinate cultural events like gastronomic fairs, film projections, film festivals, book clubs, etc. 

• Provide Nordic languages and cooking lessons to the local community. 

• Organize presentations about Nordic countries in schools. 

Volunteer tasks

The volunteer will: 

• Support in the organization of cultural events.
• Support in marketing activities: manage social networks, attend radio interviews, create promotional material, etc. 
• Support in teaching one's native language.
• Provide information to visitors about the institute and its exchange programs
• Support in workshops
• Create new alliances

Volunteer requirements / Skills

The volunteer must be/have: 

• Initiative
• Creativity
• Patient
• Able to hanlde with team work 
• Interest in promoting one's culture through a creative activity (music, language, dance, cooking, etc.)
• Organizational skills 

Location

The project is located in Guadalajara, Jalisco, the third biggest city in Mexico. The local community enjoys cultural activities, but lack knowledge of Nordic countries.

Hosting Situation (Board and Lodging)

The volunteer is expected to live in the project.
