Brief description and main aimsThe aim of “Valora” is to promote the development of skills and abilities of youth and adults with autism through various psycho-educational activities, personalized programs, specialized methodology, evaluation, diagnosis, and close work with families, so they can live happily in different social environments. The families come from all social ranks, but at least 60% of them are poor. |
Main ActivitiesSPECIAL CARE PROGRAM CHILDREN: It consists of intensive interventions designed to address the particular needs of each child. Experts in the project combine behavioral and humanistic methods such as TEACCH, lPECS, ABA, among others. The result is specialized programs that address all aspects of child development, including language, social relations and behavior. These programs provide support as the axis of teamwork with the families of these children.
Remote Mode: SCHOOL INTEGRATION: Through this program, students who have a higher degree of progress, are partially integrated (at first) to individual and private schools. PRE-EMPLOYMENT WORKSHOPS BEGINNERS: With the aim of contributing to the insertion of the beneficiaries to the workforce, the project offers training and workshops. This program has managed to start training with 10 children in manual skills (embroidery and weaving) and cooking (chopped and food production). It aims to ensure equal opportunities and ensure the full enjoyment of human rights. AWARENESS AND TRAINING: Valora train parents, school's members, and others to assure social participation in the topic.

Volunteer tasks
Therapists do a weekly work plan, where they will assign activities to the volunteer. The volunteer will be assigned to a specific workgroup and kid. Some of the activities that the volunteer will perform are the following:
