Brief description and main aims
A place for children and adults to learn about the importance of our freshwater environment, with conservation and education the foundation of TNTC.

Volunteer tasks
Your main role at this project will be working with their aquarist learning all areas of fish husbandry,
maintenance and care. This will involve working with the Trout onsite and the native fish in the aquarium.
You will also work with the groundskeeper to assist in the basics of the site maintenance and care including opening and closing the grounds.

Volunteer requirements / Skills
Volunteers will need to have an interest in environmental and outdoor projects. You will be working in a variety of roles that may also include customer contact. A good level of English is required. You will need to be self-motivated and able to work on your own. You will become confident to operate small machinery, such as blowers, waterblasters and weedeaters. A mature and common-sense work ethic is key. Volunteers will need to have a driver’s licence and preferably purchase a car.

Hosting Situation (Board and Lodging)
Accommodation is on site with other volunteers. You will be given supermarket vouchers to self-cater for meals.TNTC is located close to Lake Taupo, large skifields and some of NZ’s great walks!
