Brief description and main aims

This project deals directly with the homeless population in Alajuela. Founded in 1993 this shelter helps residents with both their physical and emotional needs, the centre aims bring people off the streets and integrate them back into society through guidance, education and support.

Hogar el Buen Samaritano also offers residents medical care and referrals to rehabilitation facilities for treatment as well as religious services.

Volunteer tasks

The volunteer will keep the residents company and assist the staff in the general maintenance and daily tasks of the project as well as assuring the wellbeing of the residents.

Volunteer requirements / Skills

The volunteer must be willing to work with addicts and people who are ill.
 
Spanish is highly recommended.

Location

The project is locate in Alajuela.

The volunteer will stay with a host family.
