Brief description and main aims

The Regional Organization of Finistère Hostels (ADAJ 29) deals with 4 hostels included Morlaix. The structure was born 6 years ago, and offers a modern and luminous architecture. Located 5 minutes away from the city center, the hostel faces the harbour next to the GR34 (hiking way).
 
The main objectives are :
-  Welcoming groups and individuals for different types of stays
-  Activities / hustle and bustle with local actors

Volunteer tasks

  • Welcoming individuals or groups during the morning and/or evenings (with preparation of breakfast and/ or meals)
  • Night constraint (watch)
 
Working days: 5 days a week. 2 days-off a week, consecutive or not. Working hours can change regarding the activity and reservations.
 
Holidays:To define with the volunteer regarding the hostel activity and his/her wish.

Volunteer requirements / Skills

  • The volunteer should be adaptable, dynamic and sociable and have a sense of initiative.
  • Open-mindedness, willingness to help and communication skills are also a must.
  • It is fundamental that the volunteer likes contact with the public and has a sense of quality service for visitors.
  • He/She should also do his/her best to find his/her place among the staff member and ensure good integration in the team.

Particular required skills: Some French knowledge is required (basis), some IT knowledge, handyman ou handywoman for inside and outside maintenance

Location

Morlaix.

  • City bus, first stop at 20 meters away from the hostel by walking.
  • 5 minute walk away from city center.
  • Nearest beach is 10km from the Hostel.
  • By train: Brest (35 mins), Rennes (2 hours) and Paris (6 hours).

Hosting Situation (Board and Lodging)

Flat situated in the second floor of the hostel this includes:1 room, 1 kitchen, 1 living room, 1 bathroom and toilets, Free Wi-Fi access.
 
Breakfast, lunch and dinner taken in the hostel restaurant or by yourself when the restaurant is closed (money given for the shopping at the market in this case).
