Aldea S.O.S. is an international NGO that has been working since 1949. It looks to provide children with basic necessities and protect their human rights.
This project gives a permanent home to children and provides them with a healthy environment. It helps them build their own future and be involved in the development of their communities.
The volunteer will be working with abandoned and disabled children who have lost their parents or who are no longer able to live with them.
Aldea SOS provides a family structure for children. Each kid lives in a house with an “SOS Mother”, and play in the village with other children, as brothers and sisters do.
The project also provides physical and psychological rehabilitation through different kinds of therapy and helps the community through social centers, kindergartens, clinics, training centers and schools for the general public.
The volunteer's tasks include:
Assist teachers in academic tasks
Assist teachers during physical rehabilitation
Assist in sports lessons for children with or without disabilities.
General support in the village
Work schedule: Tuesday to Saturday from 9:00 to 15:00.
Volunteer requirements / Skills
The volunteer should:
Have an intermediate level of Spanish
Be interested in working with children and youngsters with disabilities
Demonstarte enthusiasm and willing to help others
Demonstrate patience and sensibility

The volunteer will live with a host family in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas.
