Brief description and main aims

• Provide girls, between 12 and 18 years old who come from indigenous areas in Chiapas, with food, clothes, and education
• Provide a lifestyle away from the streets
• Guarantee the human rights of the girls (avoid work exploitation, violence and prevent them to live in the streets.)
• Help the girls to obtain and practice values

Main Activities

The project provides a holistic experience for the development of the girls. The project provides psychological attention, education, recreational activities, food, clothing, etc.

Volunteer tasks

The volunteer is expected to:

• Take care of the girls and play with them
• Help the girls with their daily activities
• Helpthe organization to coordinate workshops
• Support teachers when needed

Volunteer requirements / Skills

• Share their life with the girls
• Show interest in learning or developing their Spanish skills to help the girls
• Respect the religious practices in the community
• Be flexible and participate in the different activities of the organization

Location

The project is located in Tuxtla Gutierrez, Chiapas.

Hosting Situation (Board and Lodging)

The volunteer will live at the project facilities or with a host family in Tuxtla Gutiérrez.
