About the Projects
CERPI began operations in 1996, offering complementary services to formal education for children and adolescents from public educational units in Sucre. It serves children and teenagers aged 4 to 15 from diverse social backgrounds, including those without parents, those with a history of family violence, and those facing economic challenges. A significant number of these children and adolescents are from urban areas of Sucre and its surroundings, and many are also working. They also cater to children and adolescents with learning difficulties at school.
CERPI’s primary objectives are to provide educational support to children up to 15 years old from families with limited economic resources, and to offer educational support and motivation to working children and adolescents in various occupations. To achieve these goals, CERPI utilizes a toy library, a homework room, and offers specialized courses in painting, dance, music, theater, computers, and sports. Specifically, the Homework Room assists 130 children and adolescents (5 to 15 years old) with their homework, while CERPI also provides support in its toy library, art workshops, sports programs, and English classes. Through a mobile school initiative, CERPI reaches an additional 180 children and adolescents in various neighborhoods, and also offers psychological support.
