About the Project

The Creative Arts Center “Educar es Fiesta” is a non-profit educational and artistic organization that supports the development of artistic potential in children and adolescents from the suburban areas of Cochabamba. It encompasses an arts training school, a culture house stock, and a circus-theatre.

The center’s philosophy is based on art-driven education for social and personal transformation, fostering individual, group, and societal change through continuous, supportive, creative, honest, friendly, cheerful, and dignified human development. They contribute to quality intercultural education in community spaces and schools, strengthening the rights and responsibilities of children and adolescents through art and innovative educational strategies, alongside public and political advocacy.

“Educar es Fiesta” focuses its main activities on circus, theatre, music, and dance for young people aged 5 to 18, involving families, schools, community leaders, and public institutions. These activities are organized into three main areas:

  1. Community Culture Houses: These are spaces for friendly coexistence, enabling children, adolescents, and young people to live dignified lives free from violence, while developing their artistic and creative potential.
  2. Friendly Schools, Schools without fears: This area involves working with students through plays presented in schools, and with teachers and educators through the design and implementation of changes in human relationships within schools.
  3. Integrated Arts Centre TAPEQUE: This center includes a Circus School for children and teens, a Murga (musical expression combining dance, drums, and voice) for rebellious teenagers and young people to express their feelings against violence and exclusion, and a cultural management area for promoting and disseminating their own shows.
  4. Dreams & Arts on Wheels: This initiative participates in caravans, marches, campaigns, fairs, and walks to generate social participation through itinerant art and raise awareness about children’s issues and problems.
