About the Project
Psiquiátrico San Juan de Dios provides psychiatric care to adults with psychological disorders and drug dependencies, particularly those from rural or low-income families. The institution serves patients from the Departments of Cochabamba, Oruro, and La Paz.
The primary objectives are to:
- Contribute to the mental health of the Bolivian population.
- Offer therapeutic care and rehabilitation for alcoholism and drug addiction within a Therapeutic Community model.
- Provide outpatient and external monitoring, including family support when needed.
- Ensure friendly, welcoming, and comprehensive care for hospitalized patients.
As a public institution, Psiquiátrico San Juan de Dios houses two distinct treatment centers: one dedicated to individuals with psychological disorders and another for drug rehabilitation.
