About

This project is a shelter for children who are in difficult situations with the aim to reintegrate them into their families. The age of the children in this shelter ranges from 0 to 12 years. Activities offered include day care, education, playing games.

Location

The project is located in a very residential area of Maputo City. It is an area that offers many facilities, is very safe and easy to access from any point of Maputo.

Accommodation

In a Mozambican host family.

Volunteer Tasks

Most of the time the volunteer will work with the children in activities that may include teaching, recreation, helping with the meals, care work. Volunteers also help with the planning and execution of the programmes for the children.

Volunteer Requirements

• Be dynamic, creative, trustworthy, flexible and prepared to adapt to the local context
• Have experience working with differently abled children
• Be able to teach different games and sports to children
• Have musical skills or play an instrument
