About

Asilo Caritas is a nursing home that takes care of old people who are homeless, don’t have enough economic resources to pay for a private asylum, or have been abandoned by their families. The age of the elders is between 60 and 90 years old.

This project takes care of around 70 elders 24/7. They receive all the care they need for their age: food, accommodation, and a variety of recreational activities.

Location

Puebla, Puebla

The project is near downtown Puebla. The neighborhood is surrounded by several schools, and therefore, it is a very busy area during the day.

Volunteer Tasks

• Take care of the elderly (help them with the meals, take them out in their wheelchairs, etc.)
• Accompany the elders to attend activities.
• Talk and play with them.
• Propose dynamic games or activities.

Volunteer Requirements

• They need to have the interest, patience, and willingness to work with adults and elders.
