About
Kodomoen Jubii is made up of two departments. One is the nursery school (1 year to 6 years old), the other one is an afterschool for elementary kids (6 years to 11 years old). The nursery school is open from 9:00-14:00 and the afterschool is open from 14:30-18:00. The volunteer will mainly be engaging with the children in the nursery school but will also have the opportunity to communicate and play with elementary kids at the end of the day.
Location
Kodomoen Jubii is located in Tosu, Saga prefecture. As there are not many foreigners in Tosu, it is recommended have some basic knowledge of Japanese or at least the passion to communicate with local people. To improve your Japanese, there is a language class held every Wednesday night in Tosu (￥100/per session). The class is attended by people from many different countries, including Thailand, Myanmar, Vietnam, Indonesia and China. It’s not just a chance to learn Japanese, but also a great opportunity to make international friends!
Accommodation
You will stay with a host family or in an apartment if a host family is not available.
