About
The aims of Veamos con el Corazón are:
- Help to empower children and youth with visual impairments to become active citizens through a customised curriculum and by awakening in them the need to set goals and create new expectations.
- Contribute to the educational, vocational and social inclusion of people with visual disabilities.
- Raise awareness about the current problems of people with visual disabilities.
They offer workshops to visually impaired people with limited economic resources on the following topics: oratory, theater, computing, cooking, crafts, singing, music, braille, yoga, photography, etc. They also accompany students to different events outside the institution and organise fundraising events, such as the Athletic Race and Dinner in the Dark.
They promote the organisation through student events.
Location
The project is in Toluca, a big city located very near Mexico City. The population served are babies to elders who have a visual disability.
