About

Good knowledge of English will enable children to compete at national and international level for lucrative job opportunities. Both private and government schools are often underfunded and lack experienced teachers, making it difficult for children from low income families to learn the English.

The project’s aim is to improve educational facilities, facilitate adult training programmes, and create lesson plans and other resources to support the educational work with children and adults. During school holidays, volunteers might be asked to assist with the holiday programmes for local students.

As a volunteer English teacher, you have the chance to make a positive difference in the lives of these students. By sharing your knowledge and expertise, you can help them improve their oral communication, pronunciation, and conversational abilities as well as strong English. While following an official English curriculum, you will also have the freedom to introduce your own materials and innovative teaching methods, making the learning experience engaging and enjoyable.

The impact of your efforts extends far beyond the classroom. Through your dedication, you empower these children with valuable language skills, increasing their confidence and opening opportunities for a brighter future. Your commitment as a volunteer will be met with enthusiasm and gratitude from the students, who will be eager to learn and grow under your guidance.

Food and Accommodation

Volunteers will stay in a host family, sharing rooms with fellow international participants of the same gender.

Throughout the stay, two meals per day, encompassing lunch and dinner, will be provided. The culinary offerings are prepared in the local style, featuring foods such as rice, lentil soup, and vegetables.
