About the Project

Ser Fauna is a non-profit foundation committed to the conservation and protection of Bolivia’s biodiversity through environmental education and research. The organization actively promotes a volunteer training system, aiming to develop agents of change who can disseminate acquired knowledge within their communities.

Key activities include:

  • Workshops: Organizing events to raise awareness about the importance of wildlife, both in captivity and in the wild.
  • Volunteer Training: Providing support and training to volunteers from institutions directly involved with wildlife.
  • Research Support: Promoting and supporting scientific research studies conducted in wildlife custody centers.

Location

Santa Cruz de la Sierra.
Ser Fauna is located at Km 12 on the road north of the city, it is a Wildlife Custodian
Centre.

Host Family / living in the project

Volunteer Tasks

  • The volunteer is in charge of the diet of the animals in the custody centre.
  • Should assist in the cleaning of the animals’ cages
  • If the volunteer has carpentry experience, they can support in this area.
  • The volunteer can support in the vegetable gardens.
  • Depending on the volunteer’s knowledge they can support in different areas, veterinary, metal work, social networking

Volunteer Requirements

  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • A love of animals.
  • Be friendly and have good energy.
  • Be active.
  • Likes to work with their hands.
