About
The aim of the project is to provide shelter for children in difficult situations and enable their possible reintegration into their own or new families. The children’s age range is between 5 and 18 years. The project operates mainly as a shelter for street children and for differently abled children, offering day care and education.
Location
The Infantário da Matola is located in a residential area of Matola City. It is a safe area with an easy access by local transport system.
Accommodation
The volunteers stay with Mozambican host families.
Volunteer Tasks
The volunteer will work with the children in the majority of the time as well as help with the planning and execution of the programmes for the children.
Volunteer Requirements
- Be dynamic, creative, trustworthy, flexible and adapt easily to new situation and the local context
- Have experience working with differently abled children – both physically and mentally
- Be able to teach different games and sports to children;
- Have musical skills or play an instrument.
