About

Dristi Nepal is a nongovernmental volunteer organisation established in 2023 and dedicated to the welfare and empowerment of senior citizens, women, and children. Established with a vision to create a compassionate, inclusive, and supportive society, Dristi Nepal provides various social, cultural, and health-related services aimed at enhancing the quality of life of vulnerable groups.

The organization welcomes national and international volunteers to join hands in promoting dignity, care, and empowerment within communities.

The centre offers the following activities for the community members:

  • Thermal Massage Therapy Services: Providing relaxation and pain relief to elderly and differently abled individuals through therapeutic massage sessions.
  • Religious and Cultural Ceremonies: Organising various rituals, religious speeches, and cultural celebrations to preserve traditions and promote social connection.
  • Tours and Pilgrimages: Conducting travel programmes to religious and touristic destinations, helping seniors explore and find spiritual peace while staying active and engaged.
  • Yoga and Meditation: Facilitating regular yoga and meditation sessions to support mental and physical wellness for senior citizen, women and children.
  • Skill Development Training: Offering practical training in handicrafts, tailoring, and entrepreneurship to help women and adults to achieve economic independence and confidence.
  • Sports and Games: Encouraging children’s physical fitness and teamwork through recreational and sports activities.
  • Health and Hygiene Awareness: Promoting healthy habits and positive lifestyles among children. Organise health camps, eye camps and health awareness programmes.

Volunteer Tasks

  • Assisting in thermal massage therapy sessions for seniors and differently abled people.
  • Helping organize religious and cultural events and community tours.
  • Supporting yoga and meditation programs.
  • Conducting creative and sports activities for children.
  • Facilitating skill development training for women and adults.

Volunteer Requirements

  • Volunteers must be at least 17 years old, should be open-minded, reliable and show eagerness during the program.
  • You should also show strong motivation, creativity, and a flexible attitude
  • Most importantly, volunteers need to have confidence in their work and have time management skills to ensure effective support.

Food and Accommodation

Volunteers will stay with a host family. You will be sharing rooms with other international volunteers of the same gender.

Three meals a day (lunch, snack, and dinner) will be provided during your stay. The food is prepared in local style. Main types of food will be rice, lentil soup and vegetables.

Note – It is important to keep in mind that services in the community such as electricity, Wi-Fi, and hot water may be less consistent than in your home country.
