About

Christ Love educational complex is a private school in Dompoase, which is a small village in south east of Kumasi. The School admits pupils from 6 months to 16 years old. It provides primary education to these children from Crèche to Junior high school. Currently, the School has 750 pupils.

Main Activities

The school seeks to expose the children to different people with different socio-cultural backgrounds to develop their understanding of others, their interpersonal relations and team spirit. Such interactions can also boost intercultural exchanges, experience and sharing ideas between the volunteers and the school community.

Location

The project is located in Dompoase, Kumasi (Ashanti Region).

Accommodation

The volunteers will either stay with a host family or live at the project. They should be informed that they will be sharing a room with other volunteers. The project in collaboration with ICYE GHANA will make provision for feeding during their stay.

Volunteer Tasks

The volunteer’s tasks include:

• Assisting the teacher in the classroom
• Taking care of the children
• Playing with the children and keeping them safe
• Helping prepare snacks for the children during break time
• Helping students who need special care or attention in some class subjects
• Helping tidy up the school compound

Volunteer requirements / Skills

Volunteers should be motivated to work with children and be able to express themselves in English.
