About

This project is managed by the Salesians, a catholic movement. It supports more than 150 children/ young people from vulnerable sectors across the city by providing tools and skills to succeed in their lives.

The project has six centres, all of which provide different visions and approaches to fulfill the project’s aims.

  1. “La Marin” and “Pisulí” are considered a safe havens for young people who come for school support
  2. “Mi Caleta” focuses on helping young people who need shelter due to violence or poverty
  3. “Granja Don Juan Bosco de Ambato” is a farm on the outskirts of the city that focuses on overall improvement of youth’s life quality by providing support in education, food and shelter
  4. “Golaso” provides after school activities and promotes sports such as soccer, basketball, and volleyball.
  5. “UESPA” is an educational unit that provides the opportunity for children and young people to access education, as well as snacks and food.

Volunteer’s Tasks

  • Support with homework
  • Lead a few activities and play with the children
  • Maintain order in the project
  • Serve as a mentor for the children and young people
  • Integrate as a member of  “Salesianos” team
  • Help with office work
