About

Freire is a community organization in Maquinista Savio, Escobar, Buenos Aires Province, dedicated to supporting families through education, professional training, and community initiatives. They provide learning support and recreational activities for 150 children, helping them with schoolwork and personal development. For adults, they offer vocational training in electricity, database management, school canteen administration, and gastronomy, benefiting 15 families and 70 young people in vulnerable situations.

In collaboration with the Municipality of Escobar, Freire promotes food security and sustainability through a Community Vegetable Garden, where residents grow their own food. They also encourage youth participation, empowering adolescents to lead community projects and learn about their rights. Through these initiatives, Freire fosters education, inclusion, and social responsibility, helping families and young people build a brighter future.

  • Artis- Preparation of spaces for school learning support
  • Support with materials needed for workshops and activities
  • Create and support with activities to promote youth participation

  • Carrying out playful and pedagogical activities with children
  • Prepare activities related to the management of the community garden

Volunteer’s Tasks

  • Setting up classrooms and study areas: Volunteers assist in preparing the physical spaces for after-school support, ensuring that rooms are clean, organized, and conducive to learning. They arrange desks, materials, and any necessary resources for tutoring or group activities.
  • Organizing educational tools and materials: Volunteers ensure that all necessary teaching materials are prepared and ready for use, contributing to an effective learning environment.
  • Planning and teaching English lessons: Volunteers organize and teach English language classes, focusing on making learning accessible, fun, and engaging. They use interactive methods such as games, songs, and role-playing to promote language acquisition.
  • Garden planning and maintenance: Volunteers assist in planning, planting, and maintaining the community garden, ensuring that the space is well-kept and productive. This includes tasks like watering plants, weeding, and helping with composting.
  • Interactive English lessons: Volunteers design and teach engaging English language classes, using fun and interactive methods
  • Designing playful educational activities: Volunteers plan and carry out activities that blend play with education, helping children develop critical thinking, creativity, and social skills through games, arts and crafts, storytelling, and role-playing.
  • Gardening planning and maintenance: Volunteers assist in the planning, planting, and maintenance of the community garden, ensuring that it remains productive and healthy. Tasks include planting seasonal crops, weeding, watering, and preparing the garden for different seasons.

Volunteer’s Requirements
